Bachelor of Digital Creative Industries in Animation, Visual Effects and Virtual Production

COURSE CURRICULUM

The Animation and Visual Effects major is structured to progressively develop students’ creative, technical and production skills through hands-on learning in digital content creation, animation and virtual production. In the first year, students establish foundational skills through Introduction to 3D Modelling, where they learn the principles of digital modelling, three-dimensional design and asset creation. Cinematic Storytelling and Production introduces students to visual storytelling techniques, production processes and the creative approaches used in film and digital media projects. In the second year, students expand their expertise through Motion Design and Compositing, developing skills in animation, visual effects integration and digital image manipulation. Virtual Production introduces emerging technologies and workflows used in modern screen industries, while 3D Character Studio focuses on character creation, design and animation techniques. Advanced Animation Studio and Animation for Virtual Production further develop students’ abilities in professional animation production, digital storytelling and immersive content creation. In the third year, students refine their industry skills through Virtual Production and Cinematography, exploring advanced camera techniques, virtual environments and creative direction. Real-Time Effects and Compositing focuses on advanced visual effects workflows and real-time technologies. Through project-based learning and industry-relevant practices, graduates develop the skills required for careers in animation, visual effects, virtual production, film, games and digital creative industries.
