COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Creative Arts with a Screen Arts major provides students with the creative, technical, and professional skills required for careers in film, television, digital media, and screen production. In the first year, students establish a strong foundation through core units including Introduction to Creative Arts, Creative Arts Practice, Sustainability Communication and Action, and Culture to Cultures, which foster creativity, cultural awareness, and artistic communication. Students can broaden their practical experience by selecting option units in cinematic storytelling, screen practice, fine art studio methods, studio materials, acting, or devising, while electives allow exploration of complementary creative disciplines. In the second year, students complete the Creative Arts Project and specialise in the Screen Arts major, where they develop expertise in screen production, visual storytelling, filmmaking techniques, digital media, and creative collaboration. Additional options such as Studio Production, Fine Art Studio Processes, or Collaborative Theatre Practice provide opportunities to strengthen production skills and interdisciplinary knowledge. Elective units enable further personalisation of study according to individual career goals. In the final year, students undertake the Creative Arts Advanced Project, producing a substantial screen-based work that demonstrates their creative vision, technical proficiency, and professional capabilities. Graduates are prepared for careers in film production, television, digital media, content creation, directing, editing, cinematography, and related creative industries.
