COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Creative Arts with a Fine Art major provides students with a comprehensive education in contemporary artistic practice, creative expression, and professional studio development. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through core units such as Introduction to Creative Arts, Creative Arts Practice, Sustainability Communication and Action, and Culture to Cultures, which develop creative thinking, cultural awareness, and artistic communication. Students can further enhance their skills by selecting option units in areas such as fine art studio methods, studio materials, acting, devising, cinematic storytelling, and screen practice, while electives provide opportunities to broaden their creative interests. In the second year, students undertake the Creative Arts Project and progress through the Fine Art major, focusing on advanced studio practice, artistic experimentation, and the development of individual creative concepts. Additional options such as Fine Art Studio Processes, Studio Production, or Collaborative Theatre Practice allow students to refine technical skills and explore interdisciplinary approaches to artmaking. Elective units further support personal and professional growth. In the final year, students complete the Creative Arts Advanced Project, producing a substantial body of original work that demonstrates their artistic vision, technical expertise, and professional readiness. Graduates are well prepared for careers as professional artists, curators, educators, arts administrators, and creative practitioners.
