Course Curriculum

The Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Charles Sturt University requires the completion of 256 credit points, consisting of 20 core subjects and additional compulsory courses depending on whether students choose the pass degree or the honours stream. The program’s essential set includes 168 credit points of core subjects that provide a comprehensive foundation in anatomy, neuroscience, psychology, health, and occupational therapy practice. Key subjects cover areas such as human anatomy and physiology, Indigenous Australian health, communication for health practice, occupational therapy assessment, decision-making, and enabling strategies working with individuals, groups, communities, and assistive technologies. The course integrates Indigenous perspectives on health and wellbeing and prepares students for professional transitions into allied health practice.After the second year, students who meet the minimum requirements can opt to pursue an honours stream, which includes eight compulsory subjects focusing on advanced research and practice. Those who choose the pass degree complete five compulsory workplace learning subjects, designed to provide practical experience in occupational therapy settings.
