COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Australian National University is a 96-unit postgraduate program designed to develop advanced skills in innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership, and strategic management. The degree consists of 60 units of compulsory coursework covering core business and management areas such as managing in a global context, technology and project management, new venture creation, innovation, organisational behaviour, evidence-based management, strategic management, leadership and change, and marketing management. These foundational courses provide students with a strong understanding of how organisations operate, how innovation is generated and managed, and how new ventures are developed and scaled in competitive global environments. Students then complete 12 units of applied or experiential learning, which may include internships, global business projects, agricultural innovation, or applied business studies, allowing them to connect theory with real-world practice. The remaining 24 units are completed either through a structured specialisation—such as Business Information Systems, International Business, Leadership, Marketing, or Project Management—or through approved elective courses across the university, enabling flexibility to tailor the degree to individual career goals. The program emphasises evidence-based decision-making, strategic thinking, and practical problem-solving, equipping students to respond effectively to complex business challenges. Graduates are prepared for careers in entrepreneurship, startups, consulting, corporate innovation, project management, and leadership roles across public and private sector organisations, where innovation and strategic capability are highly valued.
