COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts requires completion of 144 units in total, with several structure rules. A maximum of 60 units may be taken at 1000-level, and students must complete at least 12 units in Transdisciplinary Problem-Solving courses. At least 18 units must be from 3000-level courses, ensuring a significant portion of advanced study. Within the degree, students must complete a 48-unit major chosen from a wide range of disciplines, including areas such as Anthropology, Archaeology, Art History and Curatorial Studies, Asian and Pacific Culture, Media and Gender, Australian Indigenous Studies, Criminology, Development Studies, English, Environmental Studies, History, International Relations, Linguistics, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and many language and regional studies such as Chinese, Japanese, French, Arabic, and Spanish Studies. In addition, students must complete at least 24 units of courses from specified subject areas that can contribute toward a minor, including fields like Economics, Computer Studies, Sociology, Gender Studies, and more. Finally, a minimum of 48 units must be completed as electives offered by the university, which may include additional courses from the listed disciplines not already used for the major or minor requirements. Overall, the structure combines a major, breadth or minor study, advanced-level learning, and flexible electives to ensure both specialization and interdisciplinary learning across the 144-unit program.
