COURSE CURRICULUM

BSc in Psychology and Neuroscience provides a comprehensive education in the scientific study of behavior, thought, and emotion, integrating psychology with the natural sciences to understand how nervous systems support human and animal behavior. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through core courses including Introduction to Psychology I and II, Biological Diversity and Evolution, Unifying Life Processes, Calculus for the Natural Sciences, Introductory Programming, Fundamentals of Chemistry I and II, Mechanics for the Life Sciences, and Thermodynamics and Waves for the Life Sciences. First-year electives such as Values and Society, Literature and Crime, Women and Gender Studies, Cultures Today, and Human Rights and Human Diversity allow students to explore diverse perspectives and contextualize their scientific learning. As students progress, upper-year courses provide opportunities to specialize in areas such as psychopharmacology, computational neuroscience, or the biochemistry of behavior, with offerings like Introduction to Neuropsychology, Research in Behavioural Neuroscience, Sex, Evolution, and Behaviour, Drugs and Behaviour, and Seminar in Cognitive Neuroscience. The program emphasizes hands-on laboratory experience, research methodology, and data analysis, preparing graduates for careers in research, healthcare, or related fields, as well as for advanced graduate studies, while equipping them with a deep understanding of the biological and cognitive processes that drive behavior and mental functioning.
