COURSE CURRICULUM

Laurier’s Political Science program offers a diverse and engaging curriculum designed to provide students with a deep understanding of political systems, governance, and policy both domestically and internationally. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through core courses such as Politics Within Borders and Politics Beyond Borders, which introduce key concepts in government, political institutions, and global affairs. First-year electives allow students to explore interdisciplinary perspectives, including sociology, philosophy, literature, and gender studies, fostering critical thinking and broad analytical skills. As students advance, upper-year courses delve into specialized topics such as International Law, Social Policy in the Global South, The Politics of Trade, Modern Diplomacy, and Contemporary Security Issues.
