COURSE CURRICULUM

The Post-Degree Diploma in Fisheries and Aquaculture includes a comprehensive Year 1 curriculum totaling 36 credits, designed to provide students with both advanced theoretical knowledge and practical experience. The program features senior work experience courses, FISH 3711 (Senior Work Experience I) and FISH 3721 (Senior Work Experience II), each worth 3 credits, offering hands-on, real-world application of skills in fisheries or aquaculture settings. Complementing this practical experience, students undertake FISH 3912 (Advanced Applied Techniques I) and FISH 3922 (Advanced Applied Techniques II), both 3-credit courses focusing on specialized methodologies and techniques essential for careers in fisheries and aquatic resource management. Additionally, students complete 15 credits of various FISH or AQUA courses, allowing them to deepen their expertise in key areas such as aquaculture, habitat assessment, or conservation. To ensure a well-rounded education, 9 credits are allocated to general electives, which enable students to explore complementary disciplines that support their main field of study, such as biology, chemistry, or environmental studies.
