COURSE CURRICULUM

The Physical Education Diploma requires students to complete a total of 60 credits, including a core set of kinesiology theory courses that provide a comprehensive foundation in human anatomy, physiology, motor learning, exercise prescription, nutrition, sport psychology, physical growth, and kinesiology principles. Specifically, students must take courses such as Human Anatomy (KIN 201), Introduction to Motor Learning and Control (KIN 202), Instructional Strategies for Sport and Physical Education (KIN 203), Human Physiology (KIN 220), Exercise Prescription (KIN 232), Introduction to Nutrition (KIN 253), Introduction to Sport and Exercise Psychology (KIN 262), Physical Growth and Motor Development (KIN 280), and Introduction to Kinesiology (KIN 291), totaling 27 credits. Additionally, students are required to complete five two-credit kinesiology activity courses, contributing 10 credits towards the diploma. The program also includes a degree English requirement accounting for 6 credits, along with 17 elective credits that students can choose based on their interests and career goals. This combination of theory, practical activity, and general education equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary for employment in health, fitness, sports, and recreation sectors, as well as a solid academic foundation for those planning to pursue further studies in kinesiology or related fields.
