COURSE CURRICULUM

The Geography (BSc) program provides students with a focused foundation in physical geography and spatial analysis, emphasizing the study of natural processes and the Earth’s physical systems. In the first two years, students complete core courses such as Environmental Geography, Atmospheric Environments, Earth Environments, and Maps and Mapping, along with a Statistics I course (MATH 211), which supports quantitative analysis in geographic research. Courses like these introduce students to key concepts in climatology, geomorphology, and environmental systems. In the upper years, students build on this foundation by taking Geographic Information Systems (GIS), which equips them with practical skills in mapping, spatial data analysis, and geospatial technology. Students also select two specialized courses from options including Climatology, Biogeography, Hydrology, or Geomorphology, allowing for deeper exploration of specific physical processes. An additional upper-level geography elective offers further academic flexibility. This program is particularly well-suited to students in fields such as earth sciences, biology, forestry, or ecology, and is designed to complement those disciplines by providing spatial and environmental perspectives. Graduates will gain research, analytical, and technical skills applicable to careers in environmental science, resource management, conservation, and education, or for further academic study in geography and related fields.
