COURSE CURRICULUM

The Psychology (BA) program requires students in their first two years to achieve a minimum combined C+ average in PSYC 111 (Contemporary Psychology I) and PSYC 112 (Contemporary Psychology II). Additionally, students must maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.5, with no grade lower than C, in foundational courses including PSYC 204 (Research Methods), PSYC 205 (Intro to Biological Psychology), and PSYC 210 (History and Systems of Psychology), which are strongly recommended to be completed within the first two years. In the third and fourth years, psychology majors must maintain a minimum overall C average in all upper-level courses. Core advanced courses include PSYC 300A and 300B (Statistical Methods in Psychology I and II) and PSYC 400 (Applied Methods in Psychology). Students are required to select up to 24 credits of 300-400 level psychology courses, ensuring at least 3 credits are taken from each of four key categories: Biological Psychology (e.g., PSYC 305, 315, 345), Cognitive Psychology (e.g., PSYC 313, 318, 326), Clinical and Health Psychology (e.g., PSYC 327, 430, 432), and Social and Developmental Psychology (e.g., PSYC 331, 335, 336, 339). This curriculum equips students with broad and specialized knowledge in psychological science, preparing them for diverse careers or graduate studies.
