COURSE CURRICULUM

Mathematics (BA) program, students select either MATH 100 and 101 (Calculus for Engineering and Physical Sciences I & II) or MATH 121 and 122 (Calculus I & II), totaling 8 credits. They also complete foundational courses including MATH 123 (Logic and Foundations), CSCI 159 and 161 (Computer Science I and II), MATH 221 (Calculus III), MATH 254 (Statistics I), MATH 241 (Linear Algebra), MATH 223 (Discrete and Combinatorial Mathematics), and either MATH 222 (Calculus IV) or MATH 251 (Differential Equations). Students interested in advanced statistics courses are recommended to take MATH 255. In the third and fourth years, students take core upper-level courses such as MATH 330 (Introduction to Abstract Algebra), MATH 335 (Numerical Analysis I), MATH 371 (Introductory Real Analysis), and MATH 372 (Introductory Complex Variables). Additionally, students must complete at least 18 credits of 300-level or higher courses, with a minimum of 6 credits at the 400-level. These advanced courses include a wide range of options like CSCI 320 (Foundations of Computer Science), MATH 310 (Introduction to Graph Theory), MATH 321 (Mathematical Statistics I), MATH 331 (Cryptography), MATH 345 (Mathematical Modeling), MATH 450 (Topology), and many others, allowing students to tailor their studies to interests in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, or interdisciplinary fields.
