COURSE CURRICULUM

Liberal Studies program, students are encouraged to take LBST 111 and 112, which are recommended but not mandatory; completing both can fulfill Degree English Requirements. A key course, LBST 250, offers foundational content that is equivalent to LBST 350, with the latter having more advanced evaluation and requirements. Students may choose to take LBST 250 in their second year or LBST 350 in their third year, with an option for accelerated entry into LBST 350 if they meet certain criteria. In Years 3 and 4, students take advanced courses such as LBST 350 (Transformative Texts: Ancient Greek to Roman), LBST 360 (Transformative Texts: Late Medieval to Early Modern Ideas), and LBST 370 (Transformative Texts: Enlightenment to Revolutionary Ideas), each providing six credits and focusing on critical exploration of influential historical texts and ideas. Additionally, students complete 12 to 18 credits of upper-level Liberal Studies electives, allowing them to deepen their interdisciplinary understanding and analytical skills. This course structure supports a progressive engagement with transformative texts and ideas across historical periods, cultivating critical thinking and broad cultural literacy essential for diverse academic and professional pathways.
