COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year of the Digital Media Studies program, students complete foundational courses including Introduction to Media Studies and Communication and Introduction to Media Production, alongside a choice of one course from a selection that includes History of Communication, Emerging Media Technologies, Popular Culture and Mass Media, Introduction to Game Studies, Documenting Visual Culture, and Popular Culture Genres, totaling nine credits. In the second year, students take a required course from options such as Media, Audience and Society, Promotion, Persuasion and Propaganda, or Social Media, plus two courses from practical digital media subjects like Web Production I, Scripting for Dynamic Digital Media, Immersive Media, Audio Production I, and Video Production I, also totaling nine credits. In the third and fourth years, the curriculum includes core courses like Research Methods in Media Studies, Making the News, Media Literacy, and a Senior Media Project, along with six additional upper-level courses in media studies, amounting to thirty credits. This progression from introductory theory and production skills to advanced research and project-based learning equips students with a comprehensive understanding of media and communication, preparing them for diverse careers in media production, analysis, and digital communication. The program balances critical inquiry with hands-on experience to develop well-rounded media professionals.
