COURSE CURRICULUM

This comprehensive fashion program spans six terms and offers a total of 62 credits, providing students with a well-rounded education in fashion design, production, and business. In the first term, students begin with foundational courses including Fashion Cycle 1 and 2, Fashion Fundamentals, Illustration and Design, Pattern Drafting, Sewing Techniques, and Draping, totaling 12.5 credits. The second term continues with Fashion Cycle 3 and 4, Fashion History, advanced Illustration and Design, Pattern Drafting, Sewing Techniques, and Technical Fashion Illustration, adding 12 credits. The third term deepens students' understanding with Fashion Cycle 5, Fashion Marketing, Fabric and Textile Studies, Technical Fashion Illustration, and Textile Surface Design, accumulating 11.5 credits. In the fourth term, students focus on their capstone project with Fashion Cycle Project Preview and Final, alongside courses in Business Planning, Computer Aided Drafting, and Website Design and Ecommerce, totaling 16 credits. The fifth term covers Overseas Production, Pattern Grading, and Fashion Portfolio development for 5.5 credits, preparing students for the industry’s technical and commercial aspects. Finally, the sixth term offers 4.5 credits of Work Experience, providing practical, real-world application of the skills learned. Throughout the program, students build expertise in technical illustration, pattern drafting, sewing, draping, textile studies, and fashion marketing, while also gaining knowledge of fashion history, business planning, overseas production, and e-commerce. This curriculum is designed to equip students with the creative, technical, and business skills necessary to succeed in the dynamic fashion industry, culminating in a professional portfolio and practical work experience that prepare graduates for careers in design, production, and fashion entrepreneurship.
