COURSE CURRICULUM

The Software Development program consists of 60 credits completed over four terms, providing students with a strong foundation in modern programming, systems design, and application development. In the first year, students build essential skills through foundational courses such as Communication and Workplace Behaviour, Website Development, Introduction to Computer Systems, Python Programming, and Applied Mathematics for programrs. They also develop core technical competencies in networking, software design, internet programming, databases, and C++ programming through courses like Data Communication and Networking, Software Analysis and Design, Internet Programming and Web Applications, Database Systems, and C++ Programming. In the second year, students dive deeper into applied software development, focusing on modern platforms and advanced topics. Courses include Windows Interactive Application Programming, Client-Server Computing, AI Technologies, Algorithms and Data Structures, and UI/UX Development, offering practical skills in building intelligent, user-friendly software. Students also explore cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and mobile application development through Cloud Computing, Computer Security, and Android Mobile Application Development. A critical component of the final term is the Capstone Software Development Project, which brings together all the skills and knowledge acquired throughout the program into a team-based, real-world application. By the end of the program, students are well-prepared to enter the workforce as software developers, equipped to create intelligent, cloud-integrated, secure, and user-friendly applications for web, mobile, and desktop environments.
