COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Engineering (MEng) programs in Environmental Engineering require students to complete a total of eight courses, equivalent to 24 credits, combining both core and specialized courses. Students must take three mandatory courses—Engineering Technical Communications (GENG-8000), Engineering Mathematics (GENG-8010), and Engineering Project Management (GENG-8020)—which account for nine credits and are typically completed in the first or second term to provide foundational skills in communication, analytical problem-solving, and project management. In addition, students must complete five major courses, totaling 15 credits, that focus on their specific field of study, with the option for one course to be selected from relevant 400-level undergraduate courses to accommodate prerequisite flexibility or specialized interests. Full-time students are only permitted to register for major courses after meeting specific conditions: either by successfully completing all three mandatory courses, or by having completed two mandatory courses and being concurrently enrolled in the third. This structured approach ensures that students develop core engineering competencies before progressing to advanced, discipline-specific topics, maintaining academic rigor while allowing some flexibility in course selection.
