COURSE CURRICULUM

The Biomedical Science program offers a comprehensive curriculum spanning undergraduate to advanced levels, providing students with a deep understanding of human biological systems, molecular mechanisms, and disease processes. At the 1000 level, students begin with foundational courses such as Biology of Organisms, Introductory Medical Microbiology, and basic molecular biology, building essential knowledge in anatomy, microbiology, and genetics. The 2000-level courses expand this foundation, covering Human Anatomy, Molecular Biology, Genetics, and further laboratory skills. At the 3000 level, students engage in specialized topics including Medical Microbiology, Neurobiology of the Synapse, Molecular and Advanced Cell Biology, Immunology, Embryology, Human Physiology, and Biotechnology Laboratory techniques, integrating theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience. Fourth-year courses delve into cutting-edge areas such as Neurophysiology, Stem Cells, Biology of Cell Transformation, Regenerative Biology, Developmental Signaling, Molecular Biotechnology, Epigenetics, and Undergraduate Research in Biomedical Sciences, allowing students to develop research skills and explore their interests in depth. Graduate-level courses at the 8000 level focus on advanced biomedical and translational health sciences, including professional development, experiential learning placements, and specialized studies in Cancer Cell Biology and Oncology.
