COURSE CURRICULUM

The Psychology program at the University of Windsor offers a wide range of courses that cover the full spectrum of human behavior, thought, and emotion. At the introductory level, students explore the foundations of psychology, including behavioral and social science perspectives, as well as positive psychology. Second-year courses allow students to study developmental stages from childhood to aging, social psychology, psychological disorders, personality, adjustment, and brain and behavior connections, alongside foundational research methods. In the third year, students can specialize in areas such as child psychopathology, developmental disabilities, educational psychology, human cognition and neuroscience, health psychology, industrial-organizational psychology, applied social psychology, and learning and behavior, while developing advanced research skills and assessment techniques. Fourth-year courses focus on advanced topics including emotional, cognitive, and social development, methods of behavioral change, clinical and counseling psychology, community psychology, law and psychology, and seminars on psychopathology, health, and women’s psychology. Practicum and applied courses provide hands-on experience in real-world settings, allowing students to integrate theory with practice. Throughout the program, students have the opportunity to engage in research, participate in placements, and develop critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills, preparing them for careers in clinical, educational, organizational, or research settings, as well as graduate study in psychology and related disciplines.
