COURSE CURRICULUM

The Mechatronic Systems Engineering program offers a comprehensive curriculum that blends mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering principles to prepare students for careers in cutting-edge technology fields such as autonomous vehicles and intelligent manufacturing. Early in the program, students develop a strong foundation in the dynamics and kinematics of machines through courses like TRON 2201, building essential skills in analyzing motion and forces in mechanical systems. Advanced courses in solid mechanics, fluid power systems, and thermodynamics and heat transfer, including TRON 3201, TRON 3202, and TRON 3203, provide the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to design and optimize complex systems. At the senior level, students engage with specialized courses such as TRON 4015 on intelligent machines and connected vehicles, TRON 4025 on distributed control systems with a focus on connectivity and cyber security, and TRON 4035 on computer-integrated manufacturing, which integrate automation, control, and digital manufacturing techniques. Courses like TRON 4045, which covers localization, navigation, and mapping for autonomous systems, and TRON 4201 on sensors and electronic actuators, further develop expertise in mechatronic system design, sensing, and control. Together, this curriculum equips graduates with both theoretical understanding and hands-on experience, preparing them to innovate and excel in the rapidly evolving fields of robotics, automation, and intelligent systems.
