COURSE CURRICULUM

the Master of Science in Public Health Sciences – Collaborative Water program requires the completion of a minimum of five one-term graduate courses (0.50 unit weight each) or approved equivalents. Core required courses include HLTH 601 Lifespan Approaches to Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, WATER 601 Integrated Water Management, and WATER 602 Integrated Water Management Project. This degree is offered through the Collaborative Water Program, which brings together departments from several faculties to foster interdisciplinary perspectives on water issues. Students complete their specialist training within their home departments while engaging with peers from other disciplines through the core WATER courses. In addition to these, students must complete two courses chosen from a list that includes HLTH 605 Regression Models or HLTH 705 Advanced Statistical Methods for Analyzing Public Health and Health Systems Data, AHS 600 Foundations of Qualitative Research Methodologies or HLTH 704 Advanced Qualitative Methods for Health Research, HLTH 606 Epidemiological Methods or HLTH 706 Advanced Epidemiological Methods, and HLTH 619 Fundamental Research Methods in Health Informatics or HLTH 719 Advanced Research Methods in Health Data Science. Students with a strong background in these areas are encouraged to take the more advanced 700-level courses, with guidance from their supervisor, to best prepare for interdisciplinary research in public health and water management.
