COURSE CURRICULUM

For the thesis option in the Master of Science in Biology program, students are required to complete a minimum of three one-term graduate courses, each carrying a 0.50 credit unit weight, all of which must be accepted for graduate credit by the Department of Biology. At least two of these courses should be selected from the Biology course offerings to ensure a strong foundation in the field. Beyond coursework, students must meet important milestone requirements, including participation in a Master's Seminar where they present their research formally at an annual symposium or another designated event, providing an opportunity to share their work and receive valuable feedback. Additionally, students must prepare and submit a comprehensive Master's Thesis Proposal outlining their research plan. The culmination of the program involves writing, submitting, and defending a Master’s Thesis that demonstrates original research and contributes new knowledge or insights to the field of biology. These requirements are designed to develop both the academic depth and research skills necessary for success in biological sciences, equipping graduates with the expertise to pursue further studies or careers in academia, industry, government, or research institutions. This structured program ensures students gain extensive experience in both theoretical and practical aspects of biological research.
