COURSE CURRICULUM

Master of Mathematics in Combinatorics and Optimization Collaborative Quantum Information program requires students to complete four courses. These include two core courses in Quantum Information and at least two core courses in Combinatorics and Optimization (CO). The Quantum Information core courses consist of QIC 710 Quantum Information Processing, which is equivalent to CO 681 Quantum Information Processing, and QIC 750 Quantum Information Processing Devices. Students must also complete one other CO core course and at least one additional CO course from the list of Combinatorics and Optimization core offerings. These CO core courses include CO 630 Algebraic Enumeration, CO 642 Graph Theory, CO 650 Combinatorial Optimization, CO 663 Convex Optimization and Analysis, CO 681 Quantum Information Processing, and CO 685 The Mathematics of Public-Key Cryptography. This curriculum is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in both quantum information science and combinatorial and optimization mathematics, preparing them for advanced research and applications in these intersecting fields. The combination of coursework ensures a well-rounded education that equips students with theoretical and practical knowledge essential for addressing complex problems in quantum information and mathematical optimization.
