COURSE CURRICULUM

The thesis option for the Master of Environmental Studies in Sustainability Management Collaborative Aeronautics program requires students to complete a series of core and elective courses designed to provide a strong interdisciplinary foundation. Required courses include AVIA 601 Interdisciplinary Aeronautics and AVIA 602 Interdisciplinary Aeronautics Project, which focus on aeronautical training and project work. Additionally, students must complete SUSM 601 Foundations for Sustainability Management and SUSM 602 Theories and Concepts of Sustainability Management, both offered in the Fall term, along with SUSM 603 Research Methods for Sustainable Management in the Winter term. These courses equip students with essential knowledge and research skills in sustainability management. Alongside these core courses, students are required to take one graduate-level open elective that complements their program of study, selected in consultation with their supervisor and the program Graduate Administrator. This elective should be taken during either the Fall or Winter term of the first year, allowing students to tailor their studies to their interests and career goals. Together, these course requirements ensure a balanced and comprehensive educational experience that integrates sustainability principles with aeronautics, preparing graduates for impactful careers at the intersection of these fields.
