COURSE CURRICULUM

Master of Environmental Studies Collaborative Water Program must complete a minimum of five courses, which include three core ERS courses and two core WATER courses. The ERS core courses are ERS 680 Sustainability Foundations offered in the fall, ERS 681 Sustainability Applications offered in the winter, and a choice between ERS 669 Applied Statistics in Ecology and Environment or ERS 625/GEOG 625 Qualitative Methods in Geography, both available in the winter term. The two WATER core courses are WATER 601 Integrated Water Management in the winter and WATER 602 Integrated Water Management Project in the fall. This program is delivered through the Collaborative Water Program, which is a joint initiative across several academic faculties and departments, designed to foster interdisciplinary perspectives on water issues. While students complete their specialized training in their respective home departments, they also collaborate with peers from various disciplines through core interdisciplinary courses, allowing for a rich exchange of ideas and approaches. This structure equips students with a comprehensive understanding of water management challenges, integrating both theoretical and practical elements essential for addressing complex environmental issues related to water sustainability.
