COURSE CURRICULUM

The coursework option for the Master of Environmental Studies in Sustainability Management requires students to complete a structured series of courses across three terms, designed to build expertise in sustainability and management practices. In the fall term, students take ENBUS 642 Stakeholder Engagement, Collaborations and Partnerships, SUSM 601 Foundations for Sustainability Management, SUSM 602 Theories and Concepts of Sustainability Management, and one graduate-level elective. During the winter term, the required courses are ECDEV 605 Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development and SUSM 640 Strategies for Sustainable Enterprises, along with two additional graduate-level electives. The spring term includes a graduate-level projects course approved by the SEED Graduate Officer, allowing students to apply their knowledge practically. To complement the core curriculum, a wide range of suggested electives is available, covering diverse topics such as global health, sustainable cities, economic development, social entrepreneurship, business sustainability, climate change, public international law, and industrial ecology. These electives provide flexibility for students to tailor their studies to their specific interests and career goals. This comprehensive program equips students with the interdisciplinary skills and knowledge necessary to become effective sustainability leaders in various sectors, including business, government, and non-profit organizations.
