COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering is a flexible, self-funded, coursework-based program designed to advance professional engineering skills. Students must complete ME 600 (0.25 unit) and eight graduate-level courses (each 0.50 unit), including at least two ME 600-level courses. A maximum of two 500-level courses may be counted, and students not exempt from English Language Proficiency must complete an EMLS technical/professional course in their first term (subject to waiver). To graduate, students must maintain a minimum 70% overall average, with no grade below 65%. At least half the courses must be from the Faculty of Engineering, and half from the Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering department. Students may choose to pursue a Graduate Specialization—recognized on transcripts—in Building Systems, Materials and Advanced Manufacturing, Mechatronic Systems, or Sustainable Energy. Each specialization requires the successful completion of four designated elective courses, combining compulsory and elective options. Specializations offer focused expertise in areas such as HVAC, fire dynamics, manufacturing, robotics, control systems, or renewable energy technologies. This program prepares graduates for leadership and innovation in diverse sectors like aerospace, automotive, energy, or advanced manufacturing, all while offering flexibility for working professionals or those aiming to deepen their technical competencies.
