COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Engineering (MEng) in Chemical Engineering coursework option is designed for students seeking to deepen their technical knowledge and advance their careers without the requirement of a research thesis. To fulfill the degree requirements, students must complete CHE 600 Engineering and Research Methods, Ethics, Practice, and Law (0.25 credit weight) along with eight graduate-level courses (each 0.50 unit weight). Among these, students must take either CHE 601 Theory and Application of Transport Phenomena or CHE 602 Chemical Reactor Analysis, and at least four of the seven electives must be CHE-designated courses. No more than two electives can be 500-level courses, and only one course may be a reading course. Courses must be selected in consultation with the program guidelines and are typically numbered in the 600 or 700 series within the Faculty of Engineering. These are one-term graduate courses as defined by the Graduate Studies Academic Calendar. Additionally, only courses completed within five years prior to finishing the degree are eligible for credit unless revalidation is approved. This structure offers flexibility for professionals to customize their learning path while ensuring a strong foundation in advanced chemical engineering principles.
