COURSE CURRICULUM

Master of Applied Science in Management Science and Engineering program requires students to complete at least four graduate courses, each with a 0.50 unit weight, with a minimum of two core courses from an approved list. These core courses include MSE 605 Organizational Behaviour, MSE 607 Applied Economics for Management, MSE 623 Introduction to Machine Learning, MSE 630 Human Computer Interaction, MSE 631 Probabilistic Models in Operations Research, MSE 634 Deterministic Models in Operations Research, and MSE 641 Text Analytics. All courses must be at the 600 or 700 level and receive approval from the student’s supervisor to ensure alignment with research goals. Students are required to maintain an overall average of at least 73% at the end of each term, with no more than two failed courses throughout the program. Additionally, only one course (0.50 unit weight) may be taken outside the Department of Management Science and Engineering, which must be approved by the Associate Chair for Graduate Studies. This structure ensures students develop a strong foundation in management science and engineering principles while providing the flexibility to tailor their studies to their research interests, culminating in the completion of a thesis that demonstrates mastery of both theoretical and applied knowledge within the discipline.
