COURSE CURRICULUM

Master of Applied Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering Collaborative Aeronautics program requires students to complete at least six graduate courses, each with a 0.50 unit weight, including two core Aeronautics courses: AVIA 601 Interdisciplinary Aeronautics and AVIA 602 Interdisciplinary Aeronautics Project. Additionally, students must take a minimum of two courses from Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) to fulfill degree requirements. Course selections must be approved by the student’s supervisor to ensure alignment with their research focus. Beyond the two core AVIA courses, only graduate-level courses from the Faculties of Science, Mathematics, and Engineering are permitted, typically at the 600 or 700 level or higher, in accordance with the Graduate Studies Academic Calendar. While the majority of courses should be graduate-level, students may receive credit for one advanced undergraduate course (at the 400 or 500 level), provided it is in Electrical or Computer Engineering, and with proper justification and approval from both the student and supervisor. This structured yet flexible coursework plan supports interdisciplinary learning and specialized research, equipping students to contribute innovative solutions to the evolving challenges in aeronautics, aerospace, and electrical and computer engineering.
