COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master’s Research Paper option in Global Governance requires students to complete six courses over the first two terms, beginning with the core course GGOV 600 Global Governance. Students then choose one course from the history component, which includes topics such as global governance in historical perspective, human rights, and global indigenous rights. For the economics component, students select from courses covering global political economy, international trade, and economic analysis related to governance. The political science component offers courses on governance of the global economy, environmental governance, conflict and security, human rights, and international organizations, among others. Additionally, students must choose two elective courses from a diverse list that spans global political economy, environmental governance, conflict studies, human rights, migration, international law, development governance, and related fields, ensuring an interdisciplinary approach. Students can also pursue a Graduate Research Field in Peace Integration, which involves completing GGOV 600, a critical thinking or peace practice course, and additional courses focused on sustainable development, climate change, public health, and conflict resolution, among others. This program equips students with comprehensive knowledge and skills through interdisciplinary coursework and research, preparing them for careers in international organizations, public policy, NGOs, and academia.
