COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master in Management (MM) program at the University of Victoria is designed to prepare graduates for leadership roles by combining core management knowledge with practical, applied learning experiences. The program consists of a minimum of 19.5 units of coursework and focuses on developing both technical and human skills needed to manage teams, projects, and organizations across diverse industries. Students begin with foundational courses such as Organizations in a Changing World I and II (MM510A/B), where they examine how modern organizations operate and adapt to change. They also take Collaborative Teamwork in Organizations I and II (MM520A/B) to strengthen interpersonal and team-based skills, followed by Applied Organizational Skills and Knowledge (MM530A/B) and Organizational Analysis and Problem Solving (MM540A/B), which build practical decision-making and analytical abilities. A Capstone Reflections (MM596) course integrates and applies learning across the program. In addition, students complete a chosen concentration, which allows specialization in areas such as Business Analytics, Software Projects, Sustainable Finance, or General Business. The program also includes a co-op component with Workplace and Career Preparation (MM504) and a supervised Co-op Work Term (MM801), giving students real industry experience. Overall, the MM program blends academic theory, applied practice, and professional development to prepare graduates for dynamic careers in management and business leadership.
