COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at the University of Victoria has specific graduation requirements to ensure students meet academic and professional standards. All students must complete a minimum of 31.5 units of coursework, with no more than 1.5 units allowed as transfer credit, although an additional 1.5 units may be approved in special cases. Post-diploma students are required to complete 24 units, also with a maximum of 1.5 transfer units. To graduate, students must fulfill the university’s general bachelor’s degree requirements, including the Academic Writing Requirement. At least 21 units must be completed through UVic, and these must include courses at the 300 or 400 level to meet senior-level study expectations. Students are encouraged to complete as much of their coursework as possible at UVic to benefit from its academic resources. For those entering through partner institutions such as Aurora College, Camosun College, College of the Rockies, or Selkirk College, advanced standing is granted. Students who complete the first five terms with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (C+) on the UVic 9.0 scale receive 30.0 units of block transfer credit upon entering term six, supporting a smooth transition into the final stages of the program.
