COURSE CURRICULUM

Biology and Mathematical Sciences is designed for students who are interested in combining biological science with mathematics, statistics, and computational analysis. It prepares students for careers in mathematical biology, biostatistics, and other quantitative approaches to life sciences. In the first year, students study core subjects including cell biology, chemistry, programming, calculus, matrix algebra, logic, and foundational electives, building both scientific and analytical skills. In the second year, the program becomes more focused on biology and quantitative methods, with courses in ecology, genetics, cell biology, organic chemistry, advanced calculus, probability, and statistics, along with additional biology electives. In the third and fourth years, students study advanced topics such as biochemistry, study design, data analysis, evolution, molecular evolution, and a large number of upper-level biology courses. At the same time, they take advanced mathematics and statistics courses including mathematical biology, nonlinear dynamics, differential equations, probability theory, regression analysis, numerical methods, and data modeling. The program also includes electives that allow students to specialize further in biology or mathematical sciences. Overall, this interdisciplinary degree develops strong skills in both biological understanding and quantitative analysis, preparing graduates for research, data science, biotechnology, environmental modeling, and advanced scientific careers where mathematics and biology are closely integrated.
