COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science (MSc) in Statistics (co-op) is a 30-credit hour graduate program designed to provide advanced training in statistical theory, applied data analysis, and professional workplace experience. The program is structured over three academic years and combines rigorous coursework with co-operative education opportunities. In the first year, students complete 12 credit hours of foundational courses, including STAT 754 and STAT 851 in the fall semester, followed by STAT 757 and STAT 855 in the winter semester, which build strong expertise in probability, inference, and statistical methods. In the second year, students complete another 12 credit hours along with SCI 601, a co-op preparation or professional development course taken in the spring and summer term. This is followed by STAT 818 and STAT 859 in the fall semester and STAT 852 plus one elective from STAT/MATH 8xx or STAT/MATH 890AA–ZZ in the winter semester, focusing on advanced statistical modeling and applications. In the third year, students complete SCI 602 in the spring/summer term, followed by STAT 802 and another elective course in the fall semester, integrating academic learning with practical experience. Overall, the program equips graduates with strong statistical, analytical, and professional skills for careers in data science, analytics, and industry.
