COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science (MSc) in Organization Studies (thesis-based) is a 33-credit hour graduate program designed to develop advanced research skills and theoretical understanding of organizational behavior, management structures, and institutional development. The program combines core coursework with independent thesis research, preparing students for academic and research-oriented careers in business and management. Students begin with foundational courses such as PSYC 802, which provides insight into psychological principles relevant to organizational behavior, and GBUS 817 and GBUS 838, which focus on advanced topics in business research, organizational theory, and management practices. These courses build a strong conceptual and methodological foundation for conducting rigorous research. In addition, students complete three approved electives, allowing them to tailor their studies to specific interests within organization studies, human resources, or related business disciplines. These electives enhance interdisciplinary understanding and research depth. The central component of the program is GBUS 901, the thesis, which accounts for a significant portion of the degree requirements and involves conducting independent, original research under faculty supervision. The thesis develops students’ ability to design research projects, apply appropriate methodologies, and contribute new knowledge to the field. Overall, the program prepares graduates for doctoral studies or research leadership roles in academia, industry, and policy-making environments.
