COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science (MSc) in Mathematics (course-based) is a 30-credit hour graduate program designed to provide advanced training in mathematical theory, problem-solving, and applied analytical skills without requiring a thesis. The program is structured over two academic years, beginning with foundational graduate-level coursework. In the first year, students complete 12 credit hours, including MATH 810 and MATH 841 in the fall semester, followed by MATH 813 and MATH 822 in the winter semester. These courses build a strong theoretical foundation in core areas of mathematics and prepare students for more advanced study. In the second academic year, students complete 18 credit hours of higher-level and specialized coursework. During the spring and summer term, students take two courses from MATH/STAT 8xx or MATH/STAT 890AA–ZZ, allowing flexibility to explore advanced or special topics in mathematics and statistics. In the fall term, students complete MATH 820 or MATH 823 (as applicable) and MATH 827, followed by MATH 831 and MATH 802 in the winter term. This structure ensures both depth and breadth in mathematical training. Overall, the program equips graduates with strong analytical, computational, and problem-solving skills, preparing them for careers in industry, education, data analysis, or further graduate study.
