COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Psychology (thesis-based) is a rigorous graduate program designed to provide advanced training in psychological theory, research, and clinical practice. Offered through the University of Regina, the program follows a scientist-practitioner model, integrating academic learning with hands-on clinical experience. The curriculum includes core courses such as PSYC 801 and PSYC 802, which focus on research methods and statistical analysis, along with PSYC 806 and PSYC 832 covering key areas of clinical psychology and assessment. Additional courses like PSYC 850 and PSYC 860 provide training in psychological intervention and professional practice. Students also complete a PSYC 8xx elective to explore specialized topics aligned with their interests. Practical experience is gained through supervised clinical practica (PSYC 876–879), where students develop skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. The program also includes professional development components (PSYC 900AA) and culminates in PSYC 901, a major thesis research project accounting for a significant portion of the program’s credit hours. Overall, with a total of approximately 37–40 credit hours, the program prepares students for doctoral studies and future careers in clinical psychology, equipping them with strong research, clinical, and analytical skills.
