COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Kinesiology (MKin) is a 30-credit hour graduate program designed to develop advanced knowledge and applied skills in clinical and movement sciences. The program combines structured coursework with a strong applied and professional focus. Students complete 24 credit hours of graduate-level KHS 8xx courses, excluding KHS 800 and any directed readings courses, ensuring a broad and advanced understanding of kinesiology topics such as physical rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation, strength and conditioning, occupational performance, and exercise science. These courses provide a strong theoretical and practical foundation in human movement and applied health sciences. In addition, students complete KHS 903, a 3-credit course that typically focuses on advanced research methods, critical analysis, or integrative knowledge in kinesiology, helping students strengthen their academic and professional competencies. A key component of the program is KHS 902, a 3-credit practicum experience that allows students to apply their learning in real-world clinical or applied movement science settings. Through this placement, students gain hands-on experience, enhance professional skills, and develop a deeper understanding of ethical and effective practice in movement sciences. Overall, the MKin program prepares graduates for advanced roles in rehabilitation, sports performance, health promotion, and other applied kinesiology fields, emphasizing both academic excellence and practical experience.
