COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM) at the University of Regina is a 30-credit hour course-based graduate program designed to develop advanced expertise in strategic human resource management. The program includes a set of core courses totaling 12 credit hours, namely GBUS 817, GBUS 838, GBUS 843, and GBUS 862, which provide foundational knowledge in areas such as organizational strategy, human resource systems, leadership, and workforce management. Students then complete 9 credit hours by selecting three courses from a list of specialized options, including GBUS 844, GBUS 846AA-ZZ, GBUS 863, GBUS 864, GBUS 868, GBUS 872, GBUS 873, EAHR 811, and EAHR 850. These electives allow students to tailor their studies toward specific interests such as labour relations, training and development, employment law, and organizational behaviour. An additional 9 credit hours of GBUS 8xx electives provide further flexibility to deepen expertise or broaden understanding in related business and management areas. The program does not require a thesis, focusing instead on applied coursework that develops practical HR skills and decision-making abilities. Overall, the MHRM prepares graduates for leadership roles in human resources, talent management, and organizational development across diverse sectors.
