COURSE CURRICULUM

Master of Engineering (MEng) in Energy Systems Engineering (project) is a 30-credit hour advanced graduate program designed to provide practicing engineers with opportunities for professional growth, applied research, and technical specialization in petroleum systems engineering. The program integrates advanced coursework, professional development, and a major project report, making it well suited for individuals seeking to combine academic learning with industry experience. Students complete core ENER 8xx courses that cover advanced topics in petroleum engineering such as reservoir engineering, fluid flow in porous media, and energy systems analysis. Additional ENER 8xx or ENxx 8xx courses, including ENER 3xx–4xx level offerings, allow students to broaden their technical expertise and tailor their studies to specific areas of interest. Further electives from ENxx or related disciplines provide interdisciplinary exposure and flexibility in academic planning. The program also includes ENGG 701, ENGG 702, and ENGG 703, which focus on research skills, engineering communication, ethics, and professional practice. A key component is ENER 902, a 3-credit project report completed under faculty supervision, where students apply advanced engineering knowledge to solve practical industry problems. Overall, the program strengthens technical, analytical, and professional skills, preparing graduates for leadership roles in the petroleum industry and related energy sectors.
