COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Engineering (MEng) in Industrial Systems Engineering (project-based) is a 30-credit hour graduate program designed to provide advanced technical knowledge and practical problem-solving skills in industrial systems and engineering management. The program emphasizes applied learning through coursework and a major project rather than a thesis. Students complete core ENIN 8xx courses that cover advanced topics in industrial systems engineering such as operations research, systems optimization, production planning, and process improvement. Additional ENxx 8xx courses from engineering or related disciplines broaden their technical and interdisciplinary knowledge. The curriculum also includes flexible elective options ranging from the 300 to 800 level, allowing students to customize their studies according to career interests. Professional development is supported through ENGG 701, ENGG 702, and ENGG 703, which focus on engineering communication, ethics, leadership, and workplace readiness. A key feature of the program is ENIN 902, a 6-credit project completed over two semesters, where students apply engineering concepts to real-world industrial problems under faculty supervision. This project enhances practical experience and industry relevance. Overall, the MEng program prepares graduates for professional engineering roles in industry, focusing on system design, efficiency improvement, and applied engineering solutions rather than independent research.
