COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Engineering (MEng) in Environmental Systems Engineering is a course- and project-based graduate program designed to provide advanced technical knowledge and practical skills without a thesis requirement. The program consists of 30 credit hours, combining specialized environmental engineering courses, electives, and a major project. Students complete core graduate-level courses (ENEV 8xx) that focus on key environmental systems topics, along with additional courses from environmental engineering and related disciplines (ENxx 8xx) to ensure interdisciplinary learning. Flexible electives ranging from the 300 to 800 level allow students to tailor their studies according to their professional interests and career goals. The program also includes professional development courses such as ENGG 701, ENGG 702, and ENGG 703, which typically cover engineering communication, ethics, and management skills essential for industry practice. A significant component of the degree is the project course (ENEV 902), which enables students to apply their knowledge to a real-world engineering problem, often in collaboration with industry or under faculty supervision. This project-based structure equips graduates with practical experience, problem-solving abilities, and industry-relevant expertise, preparing them for professional engineering roles in environmental systems engineering and related fields.
