COURSE CURRICULUM

Energy Systems Engineering (project-based structure as outlined in the credit distribution) is a 30.0 credit hour advanced graduate program focused on applied research, engineering innovation, and professional-level problem solving in the petroleum and energy sector. Offered through the University of Regina, this program is designed to develop high-level expertise in petroleum systems, energy processes, and industrial engineering applications. Students complete advanced coursework in ENER 8xx courses, which cover specialized topics in petroleum systems engineering such as reservoir analysis, energy production technologies, and systems optimization. Additional electives from ENxx or related engineering disciplines (including ENER 3xx to 4xx level courses) allow students to tailor their studies toward areas such as drilling systems, energy infrastructure, or computational modeling. The program also includes ENGG 701, ENGG 702, and ENGG 703, which strengthen professional engineering practice, research methods, and project development skills. A key component is ENER 902, which represents the main research or project-based requirement where students apply advanced engineering knowledge to solve complex petroleum systems challenges.
