COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Engineering (MEng) in Electronic Systems Engineering (project-based) is a 30.0 credit hour graduate program focused on applied learning and professional development in electrical and electronic engineering. Offered through the University of Regina, the program is designed for students who want to pursue industry-oriented careers rather than academic research pathways. It combines advanced coursework with a significant project component completed over two semesters. Students take graduate-level courses from ENEL 800 to ENEL 884, covering key areas such as electronics, control systems, communications, signal processing, and embedded systems. Additional electives from ENEL 7xx or 8xx and related engineering disciplines allow students to tailor their studies to specific technical interests. The program also includes ENGG 701 and ENGG 702/703, which support professional engineering practice and project development skills. A major requirement is ENEL 917, a project-based course that may be completed over two semesters, where students work on an applied engineering problem under faculty supervision and present their findings. Unlike the thesis-based MASc, this program emphasizes practical application and industry readiness. It is closely aligned with professional engineering licensing pathways (P.Eng or EIT) and may be combined with co-op opportunities to enhance work experience. Overall, the MEng prepares graduates for technical leadership roles in industry and engineering practice.
