COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Engineering (MEng) in Industrial Systems Engineering (co-op) is a 30-credit hour graduate program designed to combine advanced academic coursework with structured professional work experience in industrial systems engineering. The program focuses on applied learning, preparing students for industry roles through technical study and co-operative education placements. Students complete core ENIN 8xx courses that provide advanced knowledge in areas such as operations research, systems optimization, production planning, logistics, and industrial process improvement. They also take ENxx 8xx courses from engineering or related disciplines to strengthen interdisciplinary understanding and technical depth. Additional flexible electives at the 300 to 800 level allow students to tailor their studies based on individual career goals. The program includes professional development and co-op preparation courses such as ENGG 601 and ENGG 602, which support students in securing and succeeding in industry placements. Further professional training is provided through ENGG 701, ENGG 702, and ENGG 703, focusing on communication, ethics, leadership, and workplace readiness. A key component is ENIN 902, a 6-credit major project completed over two semesters, where students apply engineering knowledge to real-world problems. Overall, the co-op MEng prepares graduates for professional engineering careers with strong technical expertise and practical industry experience.
