COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Engineering (MEng) in Environmental Systems Engineering (co-op) is a professionally oriented graduate program that combines advanced coursework with structured work experience to prepare students for industry roles. The program requires a total of 30 credit hours, primarily consisting of graduate-level environmental engineering courses (ENEV 8xx) that build strong technical expertise in environmental systems. Students also complete additional courses from engineering and related disciplines (ENxx 8xx), along with flexible electives ranging from the 300 to 800 level, allowing them to customize their studies according to career goals and interests. A distinctive feature of the co-op option is the integration of work placements, supported by preparatory and professional development courses such as ENGG 600, ENGG 601, and ENGG 602, which focus on career readiness and employability skills. Further professional courses, including ENGG 701, ENGG 702, and ENGG 703, enhance competencies in communication, ethics, and engineering practice. Although this program does not include a thesis or major project, it emphasizes practical, hands-on learning through co-operative education experiences in real-world engineering environments. This structure equips graduates with both technical knowledge and valuable industry experience, making them well-prepared for careers in environmental systems engineering and related professional fields.
