COURSE CURRICULUM

The Diploma in Creative Technologies and Design at the University of Regina is a 60 credit hour program that combines creative practice with digital technology, preparing students for work in modern media, design, and interactive industries. The program begins with foundational courses such as ENGL 100, CTCH/DES 110, 111, 112, and 113, which introduce students to core concepts in digital design, creative thinking, and technology-based media production. Students then progress into intermediate and advanced courses like CTCH 203, CTCH/DES 204, 209, 217, 301, and 306, where they develop practical skills in areas such as interactive media, digital storytelling, user experience design, and computational creativity. A key feature of the diploma is its emphasis on hands-on learning through studio-based projects and experimentation with emerging technologies. Students also complete additional CTCH/DES electives at the 200- and 300-level to deepen their specialization, along with a FILM 200 course to enhance understanding of media production. Supporting electives from computer science, engineering, or media arts are recommended to strengthen technical and interdisciplinary skills.
