COURSE CURRICULUM

The Certificate in International Business is a 15.0 credit hour add-on program designed to equip students with a strong understanding of global business practices and the forces that shape international markets. Offered through the University of Regina, the program combines core business foundations with interdisciplinary and global learning experiences. The core requirement includes BUS 100 and BUS 308, which introduce fundamental business principles and advanced concepts in international business strategy and operations. Students then complete elective requirements by selecting three courses from a diverse list spanning business, economics, political science, sociology, and international studies. These courses allow learners to explore topics such as global economics, trade, organizational behavior, and international relations. In addition, students must complete a language course (non-English) or an approved humanities course focused on the culture or history of another nation, strengthening cross-cultural understanding. The program also requires participation in an international learning experience, such as a study abroad trip or an approved international student exchange program, providing real-world exposure to global environments. Overall, the certificate enhances students’ global awareness, analytical skills, and cultural competence, preparing them to navigate and succeed in an interconnected world where international business knowledge is increasingly essential across all industries and professions.
